6 business ideas for introverts
So, let me tell you about the best business ideas for introverts.
I never thought I could be a business owner. I’m an introvert through and through. So, the thought of having to be “Hello world! Here I am” was not something I aspired to, hahaha.
I heard about virtual assistants, and I saw images of people working on Bali under a palm tree, and that looked soooo amazing. But that voice in my head always popped up; This is not for you.
But after sitting at home again, although I think that was a boreout and not a burnout like I had in 2014, I came across the term virtual assistant again. Instead of dismissing it, I did a deep dive and did a challenge to find out if it was something for me.
Turns out, it’s one of the best business ideas for introverts.

Why is being a virtual assistant great for introverts?
As an introvert, I LOVE to work from home. It used to be so energy-draining for me to work in an office. Especially these open offices that were all the rage back then. It sounds like it was in the 80s, but no, this was 8 years ago.
Just last year, one of my cousins asked me if I missed working with colleagues during our bi-annual family BBQ. A BBQ, I might add, I always have to figure out who is who because there are sooooo many of them. I could wholeheartedly say that was not the case at all.
I love that I can work in peace, with the radio on, and my dog at my feet.
As a virtual assistant, you are the calm in the storm for other business owners. We can see the big picture. We are the behind-the-scenes masterminds who let our VA clients’ businesses grow.
We have so many superpowers, like really listening to what our clients need, that we are a hot commodity for other businesses.
And we can do this from the comfort of our own homes or on the deck of a vacation rental in Moab, like I did 3 years ago.
As you can read, becoming a virtual assistant is one of the unique business ideas for introverts.
Best business ideas for introverts: The Series
All these business ideas for introverts you read below can be offered as services for your virtual assistant business.
If you think this is something you would love to do, I wrote an article on how to start a virtual assistant business.
One of the things you have to get clarity on is which services you want to offer. The great thing is that you decide this. Nobody else. It can be something you do in your 9-5 or the place you volunteer– if you’re doing the social media for a shelter, you can definitely offer this as a service for your VA clients. You can also do something completely different.
I started out as an admin VA because that was what I did in my 9-5s, but I didn’t love it at all. That’s probably why it took me a while to sign clients. Within a year, I pivoted to a tech & systems VA. My very first client asked me to set up an online course for her. I had no idea how to do that. It was also not what I offered back then. But I found out I’m very tech-savvy, plus I love to learn new things, so I went for it.
You can also offer different services, or you can specialize.
So, let me tell you a couple of services you can offer as a virtual assistant.
Online business ideas for introverts: Online Course/Membership Management
Not every course creator also wants to answer all the questions their students have or keep their community engaged. They don’t want to add new content to their courses or create new courses in the learning platform they’re using. All your customer service skills come into play here. You’re there to give their students the ultimate experience.
This is one of the services I offer my VA clients.
Online business ideas for introverts: Webinar Setup
A lot of coaches and other business owners use webinars to sign new clients. Setting up webinars entails so much more than just creating a webinar in a webinar tool. You have to make sure people can subscribe, that they’ll get into the sales funnel when they have watched the webinar, etc.
Online business ideas for introverts: Email Marketing Management
All business owners need an email marketing system to send out their newsletters, but also to have potential clients go through their funnels so they buy their programs or services. Just like most of these ideas, it’s something that comes back every month. It’s one of the services I recommend in my 4-figure Tech VA Membership.
Online business ideas for introverts: Setting up Dubsado
Most businesses use different tools to onboard their clients. Dubsado is a time-consuming system to set up, so that’s why it’s a great service to offer as a virtual assistant.
You have to invest learning time into this business management system to offer this as a service, but I know with your love to learn, you are going to nail this. The great thing about Dubsado is that they don’t have a time limit on their trial period. So, you can dive deep into this system without spending money.
Online business ideas for introverts: Airtable
I’m a huge fan of Airtable! Ever since I joined Systems over Stress, I can’t stop raving about it. I also use this in my 4-figure Tech VA Membership. You can use it to create a content calendar, but also to enhance your client’s 1:1 or group program.
Online business ideas for introverts: Squarespace webdesigner
Squarespace is an incredibly easy website platform to learn. Every business needs a website. Yes, you also need one as a virtual assistant. Not every small business owner wants to spend time building their own. Once you have built your own website, you now have all the knowledge to offer this as a service. My virtual assistant coach told me about Squarespace, and I spent the next 3 months building my own website. I absolutely loved it. You can put in all your creativity and the tech skills you didn’t know you had. You’re reading this article on a Squarespace website.
Why do you only have Tech & Ops business ideas for introverts?
Because business owners NEED tech to grow their business. That means that virtual assistants who specialize in tech & ops can charge 4-figures a month.
